“LONDON” COVER EDITION - AUGUST ISSUE Photos: Giannis Psychogyios - @giannis.psychogyios Beauty: @agapimakeupartist Hooks Team / Marketing and Design Director: Matheus Lopes - @mathlopes Fashion Director: Matheus Hooks - @directorhooks The August edition of Hooks Magazine "London" Issue features an inspiring and iconic figure on the cover: Emily Domíngos, the international model who is passionate about fashion and style. In an exclusive interview, Emily shared fascinating insights about her journey and her unique approach to fashion. With a journey spanning across continents, Emily describes her personal style as eclectic and influenced by her global experiences. From sexy to casual and elegant, she draws inspiration from her daily emotions, creating an authentic and ever-evolving approach. Emily's wellspring of inspiration is diverse, ranging from her early encounters with fashion magazines and television programs to modern influences from Instagram and notable brands such as BALMAIN, LOUIS VUITTON, and Zimmerman. These influences have shaped her distinct vision and aided her in creating a style that is genuinely her own. Emily firmly believes that fashion is a powerful form of personal expression. She infuses her personality into her clothing choices, hairstyle, and attitude, transforming her outfits into a visual narrative that reflects who she is. Check out the exclusive interview with the model now: 1. How would you describe your unique personal style and how has it evolved over the years? My style has evolved along with my life experiences and worldly exposure. I am quite eclectic in the way I dress. I enjoy transitioning from sexy to casual to elegant; it heavily depends on my daily mood. 2. What are your sources of inspiration when it comes to fashion and trends? I've been a fan of fashion since a young age. I started by following magazines, models, and some television programs. Nowadays, what greatly aids me is Instagram and the brands I follow. I resonate a lot with certain brands like: BALMAIN, LOUIS VUITTON, Zimmerman, among many others. 3. Do you believe that fashion can be a form of personal expression? If so, how do you utilize it in your own life? Absolutely, fashion is indeed a way to express yourself to the world. In my life, I use it in everything from the way I dress, to how I style my hair or choose a hairstyle, in the way I carry myself, and even in my attitudes. 4. What are your favorite clothing pieces or accessories that never go out of style for you? The leather jacket is always going to be the piece that never goes out of style for me. And I love a classic: jeans, a white t-shirt, and a leather jacket; it looks good on everyone. 5. How do you balance current trends with creating a lasting and sustainable wardrobe? I always try to stay "in the loop" about what's trending and the current fashion trends. To create a lasting wardrobe, it's important to have staple pieces and those that never go out of style. This way, you can stay current while also having timeless pieces. There's not much of a secret to maintaining a lasting wardrobe, as everything repeats itself and everything in fashion comes back in some form! 6. What advice would you give to someone who is trying to discover their own authentic style? I think we have to try a little bit of everything to understand what looks good on us or what suits us best. This way, you gradually develop your style and the way you dress according to your appearance and what you want to convey to society. 7. What are the essential items that you believe everyone should have in their wardrobes? As I mentioned in the previous questions, I strongly believe in having staple pieces, which in my view are leather jackets, good jeans, shirts, and boots. To me, these items are must-haves in anyone's wardrobe! Oh, and accessories – don't be afraid to embrace accessories, haha. 8. Besides fashion, what are the most important aspects of your life that influence your confidence and self-expression? To have self-confidence, first and foremost, you have to believe in yourself. You have to believe that you can achieve anything and build your personality from there. Life is here for you to show that you're living and not just surviving, so don't let it go unnoticed – from the way you dress to the way you approach life!

"BUSINESS" COVER EDITION - AUGUST ISSUE Photos: Sávio Tavares - @savio.foto Brand: @brillantevelas Make: @felipehiratamakeup Production: @danimouraconcept Lívia Braguim, a prominent entrepreneur, is the face gracing the cover of this month's "Business" edition of Hooks Magazine. Her journey of success and audacity in founding the "Brillante Velas" brand is a living testament to how determination, creativity, and authenticity can intertwine to create a significant legacy in the business world. From her teenage desire to delve into the world of aromatic candles and therapies to the current radiance of her own brand, Lívia Braguim embodies the resilience and vision required to transform passions into thriving ventures. With the encouraging influence of her family, who always supported her in forging her own path, Lívia gave life to "Brillante Velas," a brand that transcends merely lighting candles, turning them into true aromatic works of art. The essence of the name "Brillante Candles " itself reflects an incessant quest for luminosity. With biodegradable glitter particles dancing within the flames, the brand's candles are not just sources of light but also wellsprings of inspiration. The name "Brillante" captures the essence of the inner radiance that Lívia wishes to share with the world through her creations, a light that comes to life in every carefully formulated fragrance and every thoughtful design. In addition to being a visionary entrepreneur, Lívia also expertly balances her career as a photographic model. This ability to navigate between two passions demonstrates her discipline and time management skills, all while propelling her brand to new heights of success. Lívia not only creates stunning images in front of the camera but also conceives products that evoke emotions and memories through her unique fragrances. CHECK OUT EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: 1. How did the idea to found the scented candle company "Brillante Candles" come about? Since my adolescence, I've always had a fondness for scented candles and everything related to the world of aromas and therapies. I've always had a desire to venture into entrepreneurship, inspired by my family, who encouraged me to work on my own. Right from the start, when I shared the brand idea with those closest to me, everyone loved the concept. This further motivated me to bring the idea to life. I believe that the scented candle market in Brazil is small compared to the international market, and I want to be a part of this growing sector. 2. What's the story behind the name "Brillante Candles" and how does it reflect the essence of your brand? The idea for the name came about due to my Italian heritage. I wanted something that would evoke this aspect of my life. "Brillante" means brilliant, and it's exactly what my brand conveys, with biodegradable glitter particles and the shimmer of the flames. 3. How do you balance your career as a photographic model with managing your company? It's not easy, haha, but because I love both of these professions and have a lot of support from my family in the entrepreneurial world, I manage to maintain a disciplined and focused balance, dedicating the necessary time to each activity. 4. What were the biggest challenges you faced when venturing into the scented candle industry? The first challenge I encountered was finding materials to create unique candles here in Brazil. This took time as I needed to import those materials. After this phase, I began testing and refining the products, making some mistakes along the way. I kept experimenting until I achieved excellence. Today, I have a wide range of fragrances and designs that cater to various tastes. 5. What is the main inspiration behind the unique fragrances offered by your brand? Currently, I have a variety of fragrances that evoke olfactory memories. These fragrances range from Vanilla Lace, which creates a more sensual ambiance, to Tutti Frutti, which brings back childhood memories, and so on. However, my biggest inspiration for all these fragrances was the Head Cat candle, which is entirely inspired by my cat Sal, who has heterochromia. That's why the candle is sold with one eye of each color. Soon, I'll be launching new fragrances, including themes related to the animal world and personalized scents. 6. How has your experience in the world of photography influenced the way you approach the design and aesthetics of your candles? Just as I'm always attuned to global fashion trends, I seek inspiration from this international market to bring unique innovations to Brazil. These innovations encompass design, fragrances, and most importantly, environmental sustainability, a crucial concern for future generations. 7. What are the values and principles you aim to convey through your brand "Brillante Velas"? The values and principles of the brand are centered around environmental preservation. We use raw materials that are not tested on animals and are sustainable, with a natural base. This avoids the emission of toxic gases into the environment, contributing to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. 8. Share with us a significant moment or a memorable achievement you've experienced since the creation of your company. One of the most significant moments was the decision to start the company. I was torn between scented candles and another topic I'm also very passionate about. However, scented candles aligned better with my lifestyle. The recent launch of the brand has already been a great success. A memorable achievement that will go down in Brillante's history is being featured here in Hooks Magazine, taking the brand's name worldwide.

  • Hi-Lo: The Art of Blending Haute Couture and Simplicity

Photo - Edward Berthelot/Getty Images Entertainment At the forefront of fashion trends, the Hi-Lo style has been capturing hearts and wardrobes around the world. Originating from the expression "High-Low," which translates the contrast between the elegant and the basic, this style represents the bold fusion between haute couture and simpler pieces. A true celebration of textile diversity and the power of combining contrasting elements, Hi-Lo challenges conventional standards and attracts daring souls who wish to experiment and stand out. The Essence of Hi-Lo: A Union of Extremes Photo Pinterest Hi-Lo isn't just a trend; it's a state of mind. This approach to fashion embraces the idea that we don't need to choose between sophisticated and casual. Instead, we can incorporate both into a single look. Imagine a haute couture dress paired with casual sneakers or a classic t-shirt with a silk skirt - that's precisely what Hi-Lo offers. Creativity is set free to play with textures, patterns, and styles, allowing for the creation of unique and astonishing visuals. From the Runways to Everyday Life Photo Pinterest The root of Hi-Lo can be traced back to the early steps of incorporating sneakers into professional settings and the audacity of using open shirts as a third piece. These initial changes in the dress code paved the way for the Hi-Lo revolution. Quickly, t-shirts, once restricted to casual moments, became a frequent choice, elevating the basic to a new category of relaxed elegance. Boldness is the Key Photo Pinterest The true charm of Hi-Lo lies in its ability to transcend boundaries and create unexpected combinations. Bold women who embrace this style aren't afraid to break established rules and daringly experiment. Delicate lace and noble fabrics take on a new context when paired with distressed jeans and unassuming t-shirts. This confidence in mixing seemingly contrasting elements is what makes Hi-Lo an expression of unique personality and style. Hi-Lo: Elevating the Everyday Pinterest - Photos Gilda Ambrosio In a world where fashion is often associated with special occasions, Hi-Lo reinforces the idea that every piece in our wardrobe deserves its moment in the sun. That outfit that used to be reserved for special events now gains a new life in everyday wear, celebrating the beauty of the diversity of occasions and emotions that life offers us. Opinion of Matheus Hooks - Fashion Director: The Hi-Lo style is a bold statement of individuality and creative freedom. By combining the best of haute couture with the simplicity of everyday life, it rejects the idea of binary choices and encourages exploration. Hi-Lo is for the daring, those who dare to challenge norms and embrace the surprising harmony that arises when opposites meet. So, dress up, mix and match, and be your own Hi-Lo muse!

  • Lawyer José Estevam issues warning following new trend of throwing objects at artists on stage

Press Release Photo - José Estevam - @Joseestevammacedolima The new trend of throwing objects at artists on stage has already caused several victims, including Drake, Pink, Harry Styles, Bebe Rexha - who suffered a serious eye injury - and even Cardi B, who threw her microphone at a spectator who tossed a drink onto the stage. Faced with these incidents, lawyer and entertainment law expert José Estevam Macedo de Lima stated that during a show, any act that occurs on stage and interferes with the artistic performance against an artist cannot be considered as a free expression of the audience. According to the lawyer, accessing the stage cannot be deemed a lawful and permitted act without authorization granted by the artist or the event production. "The physical integrity, objective honor, which is represented through dignity and decorum, of an artist and the free exercise of their profession must be protected during the artistic presentation and their performance on stage. No one in the audience, whether paying or not, can access the stage without authorization from the artist or their representative, as any aggression or violence, whether physical or verbal, could theoretically constitute the crimes of bodily harm or insult, as defined in Articles 129 and 140 of the Penal Code, respectively," stated Dr. Estevam Macedo, who added: "In theory, certain acts could also be understood as racial insult, as defined in Article 2-A of Law 7.716/99, gender-based harassment, as provided in Article 147A, II of the Penal Code, among others." The lawyer explains that in artistic performance contracts, there is typically a document composed of technical and safety elements to ensure that the artist has a better performance during the show. "As examples, one can mention: the requirement to have a barricade of at least 3 meters from the edge of the stage, the stage dimensions, electrical requirements, among others. With this legal provision in the contract, there is an obligation of compliance by the contractor, and if there is a breach of the requirements listed in the technical rider, the artist can refuse to perform the contracted show or demand that security be immediately reestablished for the artistic presentation to continue and the performance to be carried out in the best way," stated Dr. Estevam Macedo, who added: "I understand that acts like these that have been happening should not only be rejected by contractors, artists, and authorities, but also be used to raise awareness among everyone and, especially, to respect the artist and their artistic work." From the artist's point of view, Mug, one of the vocalists of the pagode group "Bom Gosto," stated that the stage is where the peak of energy exchange between the audience and the artist occurs. Since ancient times, the stage has always been a place of magic, mystery, where emotions and feelings reside and flow. During any artistic performance, the stage needs to be safeguarded, protected, so that nothing can interfere with the execution of the show. For the artist, the stage will always be sacred! "It's their ground, it's their altar, it's their temple," said the musician.

  • Brazilians can buy properties in Orlando and finance with a minimum down payment of 25%

Press Release Images The increase in Brazilian investors in the Orlando region has been happening since 2008, which is why many American banks have specialized in specific credit lines for foreigners, particularly Brazilians. Real estate broker Eduardo Pavone, who has been working in the United States for 12 years, explains that Brazilians can buy a house in Orlando with financing starting from a 25% down payment, interest rates in the range of 7% per year, and the remaining balance paid over 30 years. "With credit information from Brazil, income tax documents, a letter from an accountant verifying income, or bank statements, it's possible to get financing approved here in the United States for purchasing a house. They have a minimum financiable value limit, meaning we can say that a $300,000 house can be financed with a 25% down payment," Pavone explains. The broker alerts that values below $300,000 are not preferred by all banks for financing, but there is no maximum financing limit, and there are no age restrictions for financing. A person who is 70, 80 years old or even older can have financing approved for 30 years. "These banks, as they specialize in serving our Brazilian audience, understand that it's important for the property title to be in the name of a company here in Florida, in which Brazilian partners have been evaluated and approved by the financing bank. This way, they protect and shield the Brazilian's asset, who is dollarizing their investment here in Orlando," says the broker. The property acquired in Orlando can be used in various ways, both for residential purposes and for annual rental investment. Additionally, it's possible to use it as a vacation home investment, which can be rented for short periods and used with your family. "There are banks where the interest rates range from 7% to 10% per year, which might seem quite high at first. But if we go back to the years 2013, 2014, Brazilian foreigners were buying with interest rates of 5.8%. We got used to the period of the pandemic when interest rates for foreigners even dropped to 4.5%. But we know that this scenario will never return. There's no reason to refrain from realizing your dream or globalizing your assets by purchasing a property in Orlando. Remember that a significant portion of the expenses, both fixed and financing, can be covered by the property's own rental income. And if it's a seasonal property, you can enjoy it along with your family," Pavone affirms.
