In a surprising move, Alessandro Michele unveiled a resort collection for 2025, marking his early debut as the artistic director of Valentino. Originally scheduled for the summer season in September, Michele decided to offer an exclusive preview of his vision for the iconic Italian house by revealing the "Avant les Débuts" collection this Monday (June 17).

Consisting of 171 looks, the collection encapsulates Michele's signature style, known for its vintage flair and meticulous attention to detail. In an interview with WWD, Michele shared his excitement about the new chapter: "Everything flowed naturally, and I felt it was right to honor Valentino Garavani. Keeping this collection a secret felt against the spirit of creativity."

The pieces feature some of Michele's key elements, such as pleats and ruffles, along with a strong focus on accessories, including bow-adorned shoes and suede backpacks. This collection not only celebrates Valentino's heritage but also injects new energy and perspective, setting the stage for future collections under Michele's direction.

It's worth noting that in March this year, Valentino announced the departure of Pierpaolo Piccioli after 25 years with the brand, including 8 years as the creative director. Piccioli initially co-led the house with Maria Grazia Chiuri (now at Dior) starting in 2008 and took the solo helm in 2016.

While Michele's official debut is one of the most anticipated events of next year, this preview has already made it clear that Valentino's future is in capable hands.
