Victoria Alta Costura’s international debut, under the creative direction of Charles Hermann, took place in Milan last Saturday (10/10) and marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Brazilian brand. The collection, which symbolizes the maison’s official launch abroad, showcased a sophisticated approach to sustainability and the art of upcycling, focusing on the patchwork technique—a symbol of reconstruction, memory, and purpose.

“In this collection, which marks our official international launch, we are extensively showcasing the patchwork technique,” explains Hermann. “Patchwork, which involves reusing materials, allows us to give new life to fabrics used throughout the year, transforming what would otherwise be discarded into something valuable. By repurposing these materials, we avoid unnecessary waste and contribute to environmental preservation. In this way, we create patchwork dresses that not only have aesthetically pleasing designs but also reflect our commitment to sustainability.”

With a palette that moves between blue, green, and red, the collection also unfolds into shades of pink, black, white, off-white, and subtle variations of purple and butter yellow. Lightness is the guiding principle—the chosen fabrics prioritize comfort and practicality, resulting in dresses perfect for festive events, yet equally versatile for travel.

Taffeta takes center stage, engaging in a contemporary dialogue with international runways. “We’ve noticed this fabric prominently featured in Dior, Chanel, and Balenciaga shows,” the designer comments. “The collection reflects current runway trends, even without prior analysis or in-depth knowledge of them. This convergence is extremely rewarding, as it demonstrates the validation of our work and its natural alignment with the references we admire.”

Victoria Alta Costura has been taking international strides for some time. The brand already has an established clientele in Dubai, South Africa, Switzerland, France, and the United States, in addition to having designed creations that have graced iconic red carpets such as the Venice Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, amfAR, and other major international events. In Brazil, the maison also stands out for dressing prominent figures from the artistic and social scenes, reaffirming its position among the leading references in contemporary national luxury.
