The theme for 2025 is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

More than a celebration of fashion, it’s a deep exploration of how clothing shapes Black identity. The Costume Institute’s exhibition examines dandyism—a refined, expressive style—as both an aesthetic and a strategic tool used throughout the Black diaspora to navigate social and political spaces.

Under the long-standing leadership of Anna Wintour, editor of Vogue and architect of the gala, this year’s co-hosts bring gravitas and cultural relevance to the red carpet.
