Maria Rita will share her experiences, tips, and inspirations on the most enchanting destinations for creating beautiful photographs, how she incorporates her personal lifestyle into her photoshoots, and how she balances work and leisure during her travels. Which travel destinations do you consider the most inspiring for creating beautiful photographs? Of the places I have visited, Europe is incredibly beautiful for photography because you can capture images in the mountains during winter, by the poolside, and at thermal spas. In the summer, there are many stunning beaches, even in mountainous areas with beachfronts. So, here in Europe, there are plenty of gorgeous places to photograph. 2. How do you incorporate your personal lifestyle into your photo shoots? When I want to take photos on the streets, I find many streets with a cinematic atmosphere here. For me, Europe is the best destination for photography because it has everything. I seek expressions and emotions in my photos. In the recent sessions I did, including with Glauber, I tried to express emotions to avoid having photos that were only smiles or serious looks. I do different poses, look to the side, change a little, move my mouth, and close my eyes. These are expressions that I find interesting to convey emotions in photos. 3. What are your tips for maintaining a healthy routine during your frequent travels? Well, before summer, I usually dedicate myself to the gym to get my body the way I want it and to be able to enjoy a tan. Before traveling, I focus on nutrition and the gym, especially during the summer. In winter, things are different because of heavy coats. I usually cut my hair in winter because it's easier to wear heavy coats. When your hair is too long, you can end up looking like a snowman and even get your zipper stuck in your hair, which is not cool. In the summer, I let my hair grow longer because I find it beautiful, it's like a mermaid style. 4. What essential items do you always carry with you when traveling for a photo shoot? I always bring various hair clips to hold my hair. I also bring different types of earrings and gel because I really like the wet hair look pulled back! It's like someone just stepped out of the shower. Especially in the summer when I'm all wet, this hairstyle is great. So, I always carry some accessories. When I travel, I've been buying a camera so that I can take photos during my trips as well. I bring some things like hair products, in case I want to curl or straighten my hair, for example. 5. What are the common challenges you face when balancing travel and a career in fashion? The challenging part of traveling with fashion is that wherever I go, I always think about taking a photo. If I see a street that looks like a movie set, I start thinking, "Imagine if I take a photo with my back turned, looking down the corridor." Or, "That tree is beautiful, I can imagine striking some poses with my face turned this way," exploring my creativity for my work. So, in all my trips, I'm always looking for opportunities to photograph, at every moment. Like, "Wow, what a beautiful view, there's that wall, I can already picture myself sitting on it, posing, with that view." It becomes a fashion trip. Because when I travel, I take some time to work. Work, okay. Then, I take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the scenery. 6. How do you find a balance between work and leisure while on a business trip? After completing all the photo shoots and videos I want, I relax and appreciate the place I'm in. If I'm at a beach, like what happened in Mykonos, I enjoy the place, the moment. I disconnect a bit from work and focus on the present moment, on that landscape, on that beach. 7. What is your best advice for aspiring fashion models who want to explore the world and incorporate their travel experiences into their portfolio? My advice is to always have ideas in mind, even if you don't have all the necessary accessories. You can improvise with something else. Additionally, it's important to be familiar with different poses, as the pose and camera angle can make a big difference. Lighting is also crucial because some lights may favor your appearance, while others can emphasize dark circles or make you look scattered. So, always look for good lighting. I usually carry a small light for shooting in such situations. Sometimes, you may think you look unattractive in a photo, but it's not always your fault. It could be the lighting or the environment that didn't flatter you. Therefore, my advice is to always focus on finding art in the landscapes. For example, "I like this leaf, what if I cover half of my face with it and pose on the other side?" Or, "Wow, if I emerge from the sand like a mermaid." Or even, "What a beautiful snowy location, touching the snow like this." Having ideas and focusing on them is always important because the places you visit can greatly influence your photography compositions.

Check out the full interview below: 1. How was the experience of making the decision to leave Brazil at 18 and live abroad? I love facing challenges! Especially because I have been an athlete for so many years, I got used to traveling extensively throughout the country and cultivating my own independence from an early age. To move abroad, you have to be prepared with a lot of courage to embrace a new life, with cultures, people, places, and sensations completely different from what you're accustomed to. 2. What inspired you to travel alone to Thailand at the age of 18, and how did that experience change your perspective on life? That was a turning point in my life! And it's a story I love to tell... As a teenager, I followed travel bloggers and websites, and at 17, I found a discounted ticket to Thailand and bought it without even telling my parents! Right after I turned 18, I told them and embarked on a journey one week later to celebrate my 18th birthday by traveling alone with a backpack for 15 days, exploring the paradise islands of Southeast Asia! In that experience, I could see life through different eyes, living something completely unexpected that made me reflect on what I truly wanted for my future... 3. How was it to leave college in Brazil to move to Spain? What were the challenges and benefits of this change? When I returned from my backpacking trip in Thailand, I wanted to drop out of college and travel the world! I believe that with every choice we make, we also encounter sacrifice. Leaving my comfort zone and the path I believed to be the right one, which was being in university, was not easy. However, today I feel very happy with the decision because living abroad and having access to the internet allows me to easily study short-term courses on various subjects to improve my skills in different areas. I have already taken courses in marketing, finance, fashion, public speaking, among others. 4. How did sports become a way of life for you? How do you balance your career as a skater, teacher, and choreographer? I have been involved in sports since I was a child. I started ballet at the age of 3. I also practiced jazz, basketball, futsal, and rhythmic gymnastics, but at the age of 8, I fell in love with skating. Soon, I started training for competitions and excelled, becoming a teacher and choreographer. I believe that with love for what you do, balancing the demanding routine among so many responsibilities becomes a pleasurable and fulfilling way of life! 5. What have been your major achievements as a skater? What do you consider your greatest accomplishment in the sport? I am a three-time Brazilian champion and have collected over 50 medals. An unforgettable moment in my career as an athlete was a state competition where I won a gold medal in all five categories I competed in. Moreover, it was during the same week as my 15th birthday, and delegations from other cities came together to throw a surprise party for me. Sports go far beyond competition and awards: what truly matters are the values you learn, the friendships you cultivate, and the unique feelings of overcoming challenges, admiration, and limitless passion for what you do. 6. Tell us about your participation in the Miss Universe Andalusia pageant. How was the experience, and what did it mean to be recognized as the second runner-up and have the title of Best Smile? Receiving these titles among the more than 100 girls who initially competed for the Miss Universe pageant in the southern region of Spain is very gratifying. A beauty pageant goes beyond external appearance. I believe that being an example of beauty means having a genuine smile, a deep gaze, a healthy body and mind, and a higher purpose of touching people's hearts with positive energy and, most importantly, through actions. And with that, I can conclude that I feel my duty, naturally, has been and continues to be fulfilled with much love in my heart! 7. How do you balance your career in the beauty industry with philanthropic work? What are the philanthropic projects you've been most involved in, and why are they important to you? I believe that when we feel we can influence people, we should lead by example with our voice and actions whenever possible. I contribute to society by engaging in philanthropic work. Among the various volunteer projects I have participated in, I would highlight the Trash Hero project, where we clean the beaches in Thailand and educate underprivileged children, and Casa Ángeles of the Global Gift Foundation, where we engage in daily activities with children and young people with special needs in Spain. Through these projects, I feel that I have learned a lot about respect, values, wisdom, serenity, and, most importantly, empathy. I recommend to everyone that they have the opportunity to experience something like this at least once, as it is transformative! 8. What are your future plans and goals? Can you share a bit about your vision of having your own institution and how you plan to use artistic expression and sports to promote social integration? I have many personal and professional goals that I prefer to keep secret. However, I can share that one of my great dreams is to establish my own institution focused on social integration for children and young people. Culture, art, and sports will be essential tools because I believe they create bonds, include, and transform lives!     Kaue Carvalho has been establishing himself as one of the prominent names in the photography universe in Brazil. Having previously worked as a locksmith, salesman, and supervisor in a restaurant chain, he saw his life change through photography. The professional shared that his first contact in this world was as a video editor and explained how everything unfolded naturally. "Before working as a photographer, my first jobs were as a locksmith, salesman, and restaurant supervisor in Brasília. It was still in Brasília where I had my first contact with audiovisual work. I started as a video editor in 2013 at a production company that served major events related to the presidency. In that same company, I began receiving invitations to accompany some shoots, and before I knew it, I was already involved in significant projects," he said. He discussed the challenges of working in photography and commented on the difficulties that the profession faces due to lack of recognition in the country.
