After taking a break from her career, artist MÀIA HAZEL — known for playing Death in the TV Globo soap opera Quanto Mais Vida, Melhor — is back in grand style. On May 9, she releases the video for “B*TCH PLEASE,” a bold visual project full of identity and meaning.

Filmed in New York during the Pink Moon, the music video is directed by Fabio Iadeluca and boasts an investment of over 200 thousand dollars, with a production on par with international blockbusters. The cinematography is by a professional who has worked with legends like Lady Gaga, Tim Burton, Beyoncé, and Barack Obama.

The concept and artistic direction are by Màia Marcella Hazel herself, who also designed the costumes — all inspired by fashion icon June Ambrose. The video features seven distinct looks, each representing different layers of the woman Màia has become.

“This video is a silent scream — it’s about existing boldly, unapologetically. It’s my response to the world, through art,” says Màia.

Among the standout visuals, the video pays homage to Bob Dylan’s iconic Subterranean Homesick Blues clip, featuring Màia holding signs with powerful messages such as:

• “Protect the Dolls”

• “I was a trans child”

• “Stop killing us”

• “We’re still here”

But anyone expecting a melancholic tone is mistaken. “B*TCH PLEASE” arrives with hard-hitting beats, haute couture looks, and a clear message: beauty is also a form of protest.

Embracing a new artistic chapter, Màia defines this project as the beginning of her Golden Era, where music, fashion, and message walk hand in hand. “This is just the beginning. There’s so much more coming.”
