Check out the interview with Nathália:

1: Nathália, you started your career as a model a year ago. How was this transition into the fashion world, and what were the biggest challenges you faced at the beginning?

The transition I made into the fashion world was a huge milestone for my life and my career. Fashion is ever-changing, and we need to be alert to the trends that are coming. Furthermore, I had to learn new techniques and methods to fit into the profile of both commercial and runway models that clients desire.
The biggest challenges I encountered at the beginning of my career were regarding height and being a 19-year-old new face in the market. Typically, brands require modeling experience so that models can be trained to perform shootings with quality and perfect delivery. Regarding height, they usually demand that the model, consequently for the runway, be over 1.75cm to maintain alignment in the show, the famous "runway standard height."

2: You had the opportunity to work with renowned brands like Luna Beauty and walk for Isaac Silva here in Brazil. How did these experiences shape your career and what did they mean to you?

The Brazilian brands I worked with brought significant growth, where I gradually gained the trust of clients through the material I obtained with both. With Luna Beauty, a makeup brand, I created a lot of content for social media and the brand's product catalog. Through them, other clients got to know me and acquired my contact for makeup and skincare work as well.
As for Isaac Silva, it was a challenge. I participated in my first runway show, which took place at Cidade Jardim Shopping, where I was invited to represent the brand. It was very gratifying because even being a model of 1.72cm tall, I managed to fit into the client's profile and gain greater visibility, showing that I am capable of walking the runway, as well as working in the commercial field.

3: Your international career took off with offers from India, Egypt, and Dubai, where you decided to go. What influenced your choice for Dubai and how was that three-month experience there?

My choice was to go to the United Arab Emirates where, from January to April 2024, I stayed in Dubai working as a commercial model. I received various clients for makeup brands, skincare, local clothing, runway shows, photoshoots for luxury hotels, music videos for international singers, summer campaigns, and Valentine's Day campaigns. I chose this country because of the excellent visibility of job opportunities and because I fit the profile requested in the region.
It was an immeasurable experience, full of learning and personal and professional growth. Furthermore, I networked with many people and diverse brands to ensure that my portfolio and material are comprehensive, opening up a wide range of national and international work opportunities. As I always say, "who has the 'QI,' has everything" (QI meaning "who indicates," that is, those who have recommendations/contacts can reach the top).

4: During your stay in Dubai, you participated in various events and undertook significant projects, including a photoshoot for Palazzo Versace. What was the most memorable moment of this experience and why?

The work I did for Versace was a personal and professional achievement, due to the admiration I have for the brand. The most memorable moments I had during this photoshoot were when I arrived and was welcomed by the marketing team at Palazzo Versace, caring and joyful individuals who were always attentive to our professionalism and well-being. The second memorable moment was when we were shooting at the hotel's spa. I had a photoshoot while enjoying chocolate-covered strawberries, champagne, and a massage in the bathtub... truly delightful. I would definitely do it all over again; it was an incredible and unforgettable experience.

5: Besides being a model, you've been a ballet dancer since the age of six and professionally trained in the United States. How does ballet influence your modeling career, and what have you learned from this art that you apply in your professional life?

Ballet indirectly influences me as a model, as on the runways, we must act with posture and quality in our strides; our feet, legs, and back need to be strong to avoid injury.
In the commercial realm, many brands ask models to innovate while being photographed. The way I handle this is by dancing while being photographed, creating interconnected movements to form a pose that satisfies the client. This ensures a 100% professional and fun delivery because it reminds me of ballet.

6: You won a competition in Dubai, being crowned as Queen and ambassador of the competition's brand. How did this achievement affect your career, and what do you hope to achieve from it?

This achievement directly impacted my career because through the competition, bikini brands, hotels, clothing brands, and others liked my profile and hired me for more work. This allowed me to build a diverse portfolio.
From this experience, I aim to secure more jobs and proposals in other countries, showing everyone that regardless of color, gender, religion, identity, height, or beliefs, we are all capable of achieving our dreams and aspirations for the future. So, don't give up. "No pain, no gain."
