The Third PUMA x Rhuigi Release is a Tribute to New York and 50 Years of Hip Hop

New PUMA X Rhuigi release - Brain A/G campaign

A PUMA Puma and designer Rhuigi Villaseñor present the third part of their capsule collection celebrating American classics and the city of New York. Uniting the past, present, and future, Rhuigi celebrates PUMA's place in global culture with this new collection, which pays a special tribute to the five boroughs.

Each release in the collection honors true New Yorkers. While the first part paid homage to the eclectic talent of the city's street artists, and the second brought a landmark of New York City, the humble slice of pizza, part three is a tribute to the city's rich hip-hop history and its connections to the subcultural phenomenon of breakdancing.

A celebration of 50 years of hip-hop culture with designs inspired by the musical genre and New York City's 1970s b-boys, the third version of the capsule features designs ready for breakdancing. The T7 Track Top and Track Pants are complemented by a selection of graphic tees and a bucket hat, while the iconic Suede BBOY completes the collection's look from head to toe. Created especially for the collaboration, a retro graphic used throughout the collection brings references to New York City and PUMA's home in Herzogenaurach, Germany. The line is elevated with warm tones, including brown, red, and soft pink for the Suedes in the collection.

The campaign is led by New York's own W.A.F.F.L.E. dance team, comprised of @taylah_gvng, @sean.mcfly and @shoemanstro. Rhuigi Villaseñor is the founder of the clothing brand RHUDE, a brand that blends American iconography with nostalgic cultural references. Villaseñor has made a name for himself with his reinterpreted classics that draw from Americana, music, and street style.
