In this 'FASHION' edition of Hooks Magazine, image consultant Babi Montello shines on our cover, showcasing her modern and transformative vision on fashion, style, and self-esteem. Babi, a professional who goes far beyond the visual, believes her mission is to help women connect with their own beauty and gain confidence through personalized and effective image consulting.
With a keen eye for trends and deep knowledge of personal color analysis, Babi is passionate about transforming her clients' lives. For her, image consulting isn’t just about what you wear, but how each piece can reflect and enhance the essence of the person wearing it. Babi emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and creating a style strategy that works for everyday life, respecting each client’s individuality and lifestyle.
Always seeking innovation, Babi stays up-to-date with international trends, closely following the major fashion week shows and continually seeking new sources of inspiration—like the trend course she plans to take in Milan, the fashion capital of the world. Her commitment to offering the best for her clients has made her a standout in the image consulting market.
Throughout her career, Babi has faced challenges that have strengthened her passion for her work. One of the biggest obstacles? Helping clients who, despite seeking transformation, struggle to implement the necessary changes in their routines. Nonetheless, Babi believes that with dedication and commitment, anyone can achieve a more authentic and confident version of themselves.
With the growing influence of social media, many women seek an image that is both authentic and impactful. Babi explains that the key to achieving this lies in self-awareness: understanding what you want to convey and aligning that with how you dress. For her, fashion and behavior go hand in hand, and one’s posture should evolve alongside their visual transformation.
Check out the exclusive interview:
1. Image consulting goes beyond appearance, impacting self-confidence as well. How do you perceive this transformation in your clients, and what inspires you the most in this process?
What inspires me the most is my desire to transform my clients’ image, helping them feel more beautiful and teaching them how to enhance their own beauty through image strategy and personal color analysis.
2. Fashion and style are constantly evolving. How do you keep your work up to date, and what’s the biggest trend you see emerging in the coming years?
I always follow international fashion bloggers and influencers, as well as fashion week shows. I also plan to travel to Milan to take a trend course. Milan is the fashion capital, and I believe I’ll come back with an enriching experience.
3. Each person has a unique relationship with their own image. What has been the most challenging case you've faced, and how did you help your client rediscover their confidence?
The most challenging cases occur when a client seeks image consulting but doesn’t commit to fully engaging in the process. In these situations, there’s little the professional can do. The client ends up not achieving satisfying results, and as consultants, we also feel frustrated.
4. With the rise of social media, many people aim to create an authentic and impactful image. What tips would you give to someone looking to express their essence through style?
The first step is for the client to truly know themselves. I also need to be fully aware of what they want to convey so we can define a strategy together to reach their goal. It’s essential to understand which style will dominate their daily life—whether it’s work outfits, leisure looks, or something else. Knowing the client’s lifestyle is key to developing a successful strategy.
5. Image consulting involves both the aesthetic and behavioral aspects. How do you guide your clients to align their posture and attitude with their new visual image?
Based on each client’s desired image, they need to understand that when dressing in a more formal and sophisticated manner, their verbal posture must also align to create a cohesive image. The combination of style and behavior is key to achieving a polished result.
6. What motivated you to pursue a career in image consulting, and how do you see the importance of this work in both the personal and professional lives of those who seek it?
What motivated me to become an image consultant was the desire to learn how to dress better and also to help transform other women’s lives. I’ve always had friends asking me for outfit advice, and that led me to pursue consulting as a way to work with what I love while helping women feel more beautiful and boost their self-esteem through a personalized style.
In addition, I bring this expertise to my project, Sant, where my knowledge as a consultant will contribute significantly to the store’s growth.
