Ariane Souza, a renowned international model, graces the cover of the ‘MODEL’ edition of Hooks Magazine. With a career that has taken her to all corners of the world, Ariane stands out not only for her beauty but also for her ability to navigate different cultures, adapting to diverse standards and bringing forth the essence of global fashion.
Her experience working as an international model has given Ariane a unique perspective on beauty across cultures. For her, beauty is subjective and deeply connected to the traditions and histories of each place. "Experiencing different beauty standards around the world has taught me to value the uniqueness of each individual," she shares. This perspective has not only enriched her career but also broadened her understanding that true beauty goes beyond physical appearance, incorporating attitudes and cultural values.
Like any successful career, Ariane's journey has not been without challenges. The language barrier and the need to adapt to different work cultures were significant obstacles. However, these challenges contributed to the development of a remarkable resilience. "Each country has its own rules and ways of communicating," says Ariane. This learning was crucial in shaping her career, making her more flexible, aware, and respectful of cultural diversity.
Balancing personal and professional life is essential for Ariane, especially in a career that demands constant travel and adaptation to new environments. She maintains a rigorous self-care routine that includes meditation, physical exercise, and a healthy diet. These habits help the model stay focused and energized to face daily challenges. Additionally, Ariane seeks moments of rest and disconnection, such as walks and reading, to maintain mental and physical balance.
Maintaining authenticity in a competitive industry like fashion is one of the greatest challenges for any model. Ariane believes that the key to success is staying true to herself and her values.
With her international career, Ariane Souza represents a new generation of models who embrace diversity and authenticity. Her journey is an inspiring example of how beauty can reflect cultural values, resilience, and, above all, authenticity.
Check out the full interview with the model:
1: How has your experience as an international model shaped your view of beauty in different cultures?
Working as an international model has allowed me to experience different beauty standards around the world. I’ve learned that beauty is extremely subjective and deeply rooted in local cultures. This diversity has taught me to value the uniqueness of each individual and to understand that true beauty goes beyond physical appearance, encompassing attitudes, culture, and personal history.
2: What was the biggest challenge you faced while working in different countries, and how did it influence your career?
One of the biggest challenges I faced was the language barrier and adapting to different work cultures. Each country has its own rules, expectations, and ways of communicating, and it’s not always easy to adapt quickly. This challenge made me develop greater flexibility and resilience, as well as become more aware and respectful of different ways of thinking and working. This not only influenced my career but also transformed me into a more open and understanding person.
3: Do you have any rituals or practices that help you maintain mental and physical balance during intense travel and work schedules?
Yes, I maintain a self-care routine no matter where I am. This includes daily meditation, physical exercise, and a balanced diet. Whenever possible, I also make time to disconnect and rest my mind, whether through reading, walking, or exploring new places. These rituals help me maintain mental and physical balance, ensuring that I can give my best in every job.
4: What was a defining moment in your career that made you realize you were on the right path?
A defining moment was when I was chosen to be on the cover of a magazine for the first time. This opportunity made me realize that all the effort and dedication were being recognized and that I was on the right path. It was an important validation of my work and gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my goals.
5: How do you handle the expectations of the fashion industry while maintaining your authenticity in such a competitive environment?
Dealing with the industry's expectations is a constant challenge, but I believe that authenticity is the key to long-term success. I always strive to stay true to myself, my values, and what I believe in. This means choosing work that aligns with who I am and not giving in to pressure to conform to standards that don’t represent me. I believe authenticity is what sets a successful model apart, and that’s what I aim to cultivate in my career.
6: What advice would you give to young models aspiring to an international career but who still face doubts and insecurities?
My advice would be to believe in yourself and not let uncertainties or competition get you down. The fashion world is vast, and there is room for everyone, as long as you are persistent and willing to work hard. It’s important to remember that every journey is unique and that success comes in different forms and times. Cultivate self-confidence, stay true to your values, and always be open to learning and growing from experiences, both good and bad.
