At MONTBLANC HAUS in Hamburg, the temporary exhibition INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING is presented to celebrate the 100 years of the Meisterstück and the role of writing in cinema.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of its iconic writing instrument, the Meisterstück, and the Maison's birthday campaign, Montblanc presents a new temporary exhibition at MONTBLANC HAUS in Hamburg. Inaugurated on June 6, 2024, the exhibition highlights writing as one of the pillars of cinema and incorporates the new birthday campaign, written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Wes Anderson. The temporary exhibition, titled INSPIRE WRITING | FILMMAKING, guides visitors through the "behind the scenes" of the filmmaking process: from sources of inspiration to ideas on paper, culminating in a cinematic masterpiece. Visitors can step into the reimagined studio of the brand's campaign film and immerse themselves in the inspiring universe of cinema.
"Without the fundamental art of scriptwriting, the magic of movies could never come to life. Putting pen to paper is the crucial first step in crafting compelling narratives, developing characters, and building captivating worlds, as the one created for Montblanc by Wes Anderson. This exhibition aims to provoke new ideas and emotions, inviting the world to rediscover the timeless art of writing through a new and perhaps unexpected lens," says Vincent Montalescot, Montblanc's Director of Marketing and Merchandising.
Entering the Montblanc High-Mountain Observatory, a cinematic chalet inspired by the brand's campaign film, visitors can delve into the extraordinary world of Montblanc with vintage furniture, green and yellow accents, and a mountainous backdrop. Visitors can transform into protagonists of the campaign film in reinvented settings such as the Library, the Writing Room, and a photographic wall dedicated to the mountain.
Visitors can also relax and watch the film with sound provided by Montblanc MB 01 headphones. The temporary exhibition is complemented by various cinematic artifacts such as storyboards and film scripts from the Stiftung Deutsche Kinemathek, Berlin, and the Film- und Fernsehmuseum Hamburg e.V.
Located near Montblanc's headquarters and the factory where the Maison's writing instruments are produced, MONTBLANC HAUS, inaugurated in 2022, tells the story of Montblanc, craftsmanship, and the impact of its writing instruments. The permanent exhibition INSPIRE WRITING and annual temporary exhibitions highlight the value of writing in helping people express their full potential.
